Video content for your business is a marketing tool. It’s the most powerful way to get a response and connect with your audiences but only if you use it - you wouldn’t print flyers and leave them on your desk!
So with that in mind here are 5 tips on how to make video work for you:
1. Know Your Audience (And Create Content For Them!)
This is one of the biggest mistakes I see brands make, they create content for themselves, not for their audience. Put yourself in your customer's shoes - what are they searching for online? Now create content that answers their questions or engages their interests.
2. Create Platform-Specific Content
Not all platforms are created equal. LinkedIn has a very different audience from TikTok, so know where your customer or clients are spending their time and create content with that in mind.
3. Set Out A Clear Goal And Act
Know what you want to get from your content and direct your energy towards it. For instance, if you’re looking to drive traffic to your site use the video content to pull them in and end your film with “A link to our site is in the description.”
4. Timing Is Key
Although the content you put online should always be there, drawing in new customers and clients, choosing when to post your video for the first time is crucial. Pick a time when you know your audience is engaging and make use of your network to gain viewers from outside your bubble.
5. Adopt, Adapt, And Improve.
Once your content is out there in the world don’t be afraid to ask for feedback and engage with your customers - how else will you know if your content has struck the right note?
Creating video content is only the first step in getting your brand noticed online - but with the right content, captured and edited in the right way you’ll be off to a flying start.
